New year, new goals?

Have you thought about starting 2023 with intentions and goals rather than resolutions? Looking at them as positive opportunities rather than dreaded restrictions?

If like me, you value inspiration and motivation this time of year, then this list of ideas is for you! I have gathered some of the goals, ideas and intentions I have come across that resonated with me, I hope they bring you a joyful start to 2023! Daphne x

  • Look back over the last year, what made you most happy, can you do more of that, what made you least happy, how can that improve?

  • Set goals for the year, these can be anything from “move house”, to “drink more water”

  • Review your goals - are they what you want, or what you think you should want?

  • Break your goals down into monthly or weekly actions, and keep them somewhere written down where you will look at them. This greatly improves the chances you will stick to it.

  • Are they achievable and measurable? ie “do more exercise” - what does this mean? How much? Why? - this could be “do 10 minutes of yoga every day to improve my flexibility and mood”

  • Do you actually want a gym membership?!! Find an active hobby you actually look forward to, could be gardening, doesn’t have to be a spin class…

  • Diet… going on a diet is guaranteed to bring no joy, working on your diet will! Success comes from maintaining a diet continuously that you enjoy and is healthy - try listing your favourite vegetables, could you eat more of these? Ensure they feature in every meal? Find joy in healthy meals, get a cook book to inspire! I bought myself Mob Fresh as a new years treat!

  • Set time limits on apps you want to use less of.

  • Read news articles that interest you, avoid absorbing only dramatic headlines.

  • Set time for yourself each day, to do something for you.

Some of my own goals focus on travel and photography for inspiration, sunshine and fresh air for my soul - these images help me to visualise my ideas.
